Chrystal Alesna is an entrepreneur based in Cebu, Philippines. Her passions include travel, food, and jewelry.

The story of Island Jewels started with a pair of grey stud earrings she bought in 2015. They were her favorite to wear—whether she was visiting temples in Cambodia, eating at a fancy restaurant in London, or partying in Barcelona. When she lost them, she tried searching for the same ones and in the process, learned more about sea glass. Knowing that it takes decades for them to get their characteristic shape/texture and their possible origins made them even more special, like how a piece of red sea glass may have come from a beer bottle produced in the 1950's.

Chrystal partnered with local silversmiths, "sea glass are beautiful by themselves, but the magic happens when you put craftsmanship and imagination together". Now Island Jewels creates jewelry and a range of products using sea glass from different beach of the Philippines.
